The concept resonates with many contemporary visual artists who emphasize intuition, improvisation, and process. Drawing on this approach,&nbsp;<em>Yes &amp;...</em>&nbsp;brings together an eclectic mix of styles and aesthetics from 18 artists united by their human-centered focus and perspective.</p><p><strong>ÂÌñ»»ÆȚ William Cobbing: </strong>Starting from a sculptural sensibility, Cobbing’s art practice encompasses a diverse range of media, including video and installation. Performative encounters are devised with material, such as clay, in which the protagonists are engaged in a repetitive and absurd cycle of manipulating formless surfaces. The works allude to concepts of entropy, underlining the extent to which earthly material is irreversibly dispersed, giving rise to a definitive blurring of the boundaries between the body and landscape, whilst putting the possibility of conclusion on hold. Madsen’s practice is at the intersection of sculpture, prints, painting, ready-mades, and photography. Her vast collections of industrial matter -- spark plugs, machine parts, welding masks, light switches, rubber, plastic, prosthetics, artificial eyes, toys and much more – serve as the stimulus for the work. Her work is riddled with skeptical questions about society, civilization and collapse. Who is the Guardian and who is the Barbarian? Who enters the gate and who’s banned? She aims to lift the lid off canonical hierarchical art forms and queer space. Her work is an ever-evolving quest that picks out and unravels a new thread about greed and power to see how far she can push farcical realities from the primitive to the futuristic. Her explosive use of color is in the service of creating awkward, ridiculously sublime sculptures-works and installations that seem to infect, corrupt, and devour the universe. Exploring how such artistic personae circulated through the interrelated practices of mail art and zines, the examples highlight the role of anonymity, portraiture, signature icons, and gender play in Chicanx art history.</p><p>C. Ondine Chavoya is the John D. Murchison Regents Professor in Art in the Department of Art and Art History at UT Austin. A specialist in contemporary art and Latinx art, Chavoya is co-editor of Chicano and Chicana Art: A Critical Anthology. With David Evans Frantz, Chavoya was co-curator of Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in Chicano L.A., a groundbreaking exhibition and archival research project that traveled to eight venues across the United States from 2017 to 2022. With Rita Gonzalez, Chavoya was co-curator of the earlier exhibition Asco: Elite of the Obscure, A Retrospective, 1972-1987 that opened at LACMA in 2011. More recently, he co-organized the traveling exhibition Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art. From public art installation to sculpture, painting to performance and music, Khan collages the effects of these relationships to labor and family structures, religion, and spiritual well-being. Khan has performed and exhibited at several locations in the past years sharing this diverse practice. "Painful Arc II, Shoulder High," a public art commission for High Line Art, NYC, was installed from 2023-24, and "New Leaf," a permanent public art commission for Help USA, Brooklyn, NY was installed in 2025.</p><p>Khan has had several solo institutional exhibitions such as Mass Art Museum, Boston, Massachusetts (2026), the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C. (2023), and the Brooklyn Museum, NY (2021-22) and many others. Drawing on this approach,&nbsp;<em>Yes &amp;...</em>&nbsp;brings together an eclectic mix of styles and aesthetics from 18 artists united by their human-centered focus and perspective.</p><p><strong>ÂÌñ»»ÆȚ William Cobbing: </strong>Starting from a sculptural sensibility, Cobbing’s art practice encompasses a diverse range of media, including video and installation. Performative encounters are devised with material, such as clay, in which the protagonists are engaged in a repetitive and absurd cycle of manipulating formless surfaces. The works allude to concepts of entropy, underlining the extent to which earthly material is irreversibly dispersed, giving rise to a definitive blurring of the boundaries between the body and landscape, whilst putting the possibility of conclusion on hold. Exploring how such artistic personae circulated through the interrelated practices of mail art and zines, the examples highlight the role of anonymity, portraiture, signature icons, and gender play in Chicanx art history.</p><p>C. Ondine Chavoya is the John D. Murchison Regents Professor in Art in the Department of Art and Art History at UT Austin. A specialist in contemporary art and Latinx art, Chavoya is co-editor of Chicano and Chicana Art: A Critical Anthology. With David Evans Frantz, Chavoya was co-curator of Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in Chicano L.A., a groundbreaking exhibition and archival research project that traveled to eight venues across the United States from 2017 to 2022. With Rita Gonzalez, Chavoya was co-curator of the earlier exhibition Asco: Elite of the Obscure, A Retrospective, 1972-1987 that opened at LACMA in 2011. More recently, he co-organized the traveling exhibition Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art. From public art installation to sculpture, painting to performance and music, Khan collages the effects of these relationships to labor and family structures, religion, and spiritual well-being. Khan has performed and exhibited at several locations in the past years sharing this diverse practice. "Painful Arc II, Shoulder High," a public art commission for High Line Art, NYC, was installed from 2023-24, and "New Leaf," a permanent public art commission for Help USA, Brooklyn, NY was installed in 2025.</p><p>Khan has had several solo institutional exhibitions such as Mass Art Museum, Boston, Massachusetts (2026), the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C. (2023), and the Brooklyn Museum, NY (2021-22) and many others. His work investigates the promises and perils of living in an increasingly digital and networked world. Rather than&nbsp;being the physical support for her marks, these materials become an integral part of her work. She studies each surface closely and experiments with ways of marking it, seeking marks that respond to its appearance, use, or history. As a result, her marks/interventions visually interweave with the pre-existing materials. Photographic portraits have become a normal and almost egalitarian ritual in western societies, but the same is not true in the so called Third World. He has lectured at Harvard University Ceramics, Brown University, SUNY New Paltz, and Umass Dartmouth, and participated in residencies at the Zentrum Fur Keramiks in Berlin, Germany, Millay Arts in New York, and Arch Contemporary in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Schiffman received his MFA in Ceramics from ÂÌñ»»ÆȚ, Post-Baccalaureate in Ceramics from Umass Dartmouth, and BA from Prescott College in Holistic Health. Schiffman’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States, most recently at Headstone Gallery, Kingston, NY and Emerson Dorsch Gallery, Miami. In 2016, he received an emerging artists award from the National Council for the Education of Ceramic Arts, and in 2025, he received the Hopper Prize. Her practice focuses on creating images and multi-media works by layering self-portrait, movement, and landscape. Johnson creates immersive environments that invite viewers into intimate, performative encounters.</p><p>Her project,&nbsp;<em>Seasons Quartet</em>, brought together four bodies of work created over the course of twelve years.
