Today’s most complex business challenges require more than expertise in a single discipline. As technology, sustainability and data shift companies' priorities, employers seek professionals who can connect business decisions with technical solutions. Leeds is dedicated to being at the frontline of these intersecting needs and creating leaders in both business and technology.Ìý

In the 2025-26 academic year, Leeds, in partnership with the College of Engineering and Applied Science, took action to create and launch the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE). Approved by the Board of Regents in November 2025, IBE integrates business administration, engineering and data analysis to bridge technical expertise and business strategy.ÌýÌý

This program addresses a growing challenge across industries where technical professionals may struggle to communicate business outcomes, but business leaders may lack technical expertise. IBE was created to address this gap and prepare students for careers with increasing technical demands.ÌýÌý

Over the past year, Leeds and campus partners developed this vision into a program. The first cohort of 40 students began this fall, with students selecting a focus in Tech Entrepreneurship or Tech-Driven Sustainable Business.ÌýÌý

IBE is a continuation of the expanding focus on interdisciplinary education at Leeds. In the past academic year, Leeds also developed a new graduate program in Sustainable Business that welcomed 20 students this fall, combining business, engineering and environmental science to meet the growing demand for sustainability-focused leadership.ÌýÌý

Together, these initiatives showcase an important step forward for Leeds. Philanthropic investment and strategic partnership empower Leeds and our students to respond quickly to changing workplace needs. The development of these programs demonstrates the school’s progressive evolution in business education.
