Shell Week at CU September 12-15, 2016

Shell is in search of remarkable people, from all different backgrounds and disciplines, who can apply their imagination, intelligence and determination to helping us create a more sustainable energy future. That is why we are hosting Shell Week 2016! We want to engage with students in a variety of settings and make them aware of the opportunities available to them. We hope that by the end of Shell Week, students understand the Shell application and assessment, and are eager to apply for internship and full time roles.

Why Shell Week?

  • Shell Week is intended to introduce students to Shell early in the fall semester. Our hope is that students will leave their interactions with Shell knowing more about the jobs and culture of Shell and thinking about us as a possible internship or full time employer.

What happens during Shell Week?

  • We have events already planned- case studies, lobby tables, meetings with student organizations.

*The Case Study requires students to sign-up in order to attend due to limited capacity. It will be on a first-come, first-serve basis for students with a 3.2 Cumulative GPA or higher. A separate email/flyer will be sent out with more details on the event and how to register.

  • We would love to get feedback from you on specific activities where you think we could get involved during Shell Week. Where can we make an impact? Which groups need speakers and would be interested in having Shell?

Can students apply before Shell Week? How do they apply?

  • Yes! We want students to apply early so that we can place them on our interview schedules.
  • Students can apply for 2017 Internships and Full Time Opportunities after July 15th.
  • Candidates must apply online and successfully complete our timed online assessments.
  • Candidates must have a minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.20.
  • Candidates for regular U.S. positions must be a U.S. citizen or national, an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee, asylee, temporary resident, or an individual whopossesses valid work authorization. Individuals with temporary visas (H-1, H-2, J-1, F-1, etc.) or who require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire.
  • In some instances, we are able to sponsor Ph.D. candidates in the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Physics, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geosciences and Research & Development. In some cases, we are able to sponsor Master’s level candidates in Geoscience ONLY.
  • Attach current résumé and unofficial transcript or grade history which provides printed name and CGPA. Add the unofficial transcript or grade history as an ‘Additional Attachment’.

Want to know more about the Online Assessments?

  • If successful during the application stage, candidates will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the online assessment. There are two parts to the online assessment. Each part must be completed and submitted within 7 working days.
  • Part 1 consists of a series of competency-based questions. If part 1 is successfully completed, candidates will receive an email invitation to complete Part 2, which assesses decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Practice tests are available and highly encouraged! You may now complete and before starting an application. For more information, visit “”.

Will there be interviews during Shell Week?

  • In order to be selected for an interview, candidates must first complete and pass the online assessments. Students will then be informed if they are selected for an interview and if it will be via telephone or face to face.
