Heads Up: Cone Zone on Broadway Near Regent Drive (Starting May 4)

Heads Up: Cone Zone on Broadway Near Regent Drive (Starting May 4)

What’s a queue jump?

A queue jump gives buses a short, dedicated space to move ahead of traffic at signals — helping keep trips faster and more reliable.

Starting May 4, the City will begin construction on a new bus queue jump on northbound Broadway at the Regent Drive intersection. This will allow RTD and the Buff Bus to use the right turn lane to bypass queued traffic in the two vehicle through lanes. Once at the intersection, buses will be allowed to go straight through to the Regent bus stop. (All other traffic will go right onto Regent).

This work is part of a larger effort to improve bus reliability and safety in this busy corridor. . You may notice lane shifts, cones, and crews in the area during construction.

Construction to support this new stop begins May 4, so you may notice cones and crews on northbound Broadway near Regent Drive this spring and summer. This will not impact the summer Stampede bus service. As a reminder, there is no Will Vill bus over the summer.

The new stop will open for Will Vill buses in August. Keep an eye out for updated stop signs and rider alerts later this summer so you’re ready when the new stop goes live.

We appreciate your patience while this improvement is underway — it’s setting the stage for better bus service to campus.
