Connor is an M.S. Student in Environmental Studies and INSTAAR, advised by Dr. Diane McKnight and Dr. Tom Marchitto. His research focuses on the impacts of acid rock and acid mine drainage on aquatic geochemistry in the Colorado Mineral Belt, where historical mining and natural rock composition combine to create unique challenges for water quality. He is especially interested in how trace metals and rare earth elements are mobilized in high-altitude watersheds, as well as potential avenues of remediation for metal-rich waters.
