- In recognition of his innovative research in soft condensed matter and optical physics, Professor Ivan Smalyukh has been named a Fellow of Optica.
- With the grand opening of the renovated Roe Green Theatre on Nov. 3, the university has ushered in a new era for ñ’s Department of Theatre & Dance. To celebrate, the department hosted a celebratory ribbon-cutting.
- Gary Wall, a 1970 ñ physics graduate, won the Los Alamos Medal in recognition of more than 50 years of distinguished work at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
- Buff pride filled the air at the 94th Alumni Awards event, the official kick off of Homecoming festivities and one of the university's longest standing traditions. A variety of awards honor some of ñ’s best and brightest alumni, faculty, student and staff members.
- ñ’s chapter of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society participated in the 2023 First Nations Launch as the “CU Trailblazers,” sweeping first place in all their categories and a grand prize trip to the Kennedy Space Center.
- Charles Hull—a ñ alumnus who invented stereolithography, commonly known as 3D printing—was named among the 2023 recipients of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
- Held at the Center for British and Irish Studies, the Fall Convocation and Awards Ceremony on Oct. 13 celebrated the remarkable achievements of 122 faculty members at ñ.
- ñ professors Noah Finkelstein of physics and Valerie Otero of education have won the 2023 Svend Pedersen Award and Lecture from Stockholm University.
- The We Are Water team at ñ’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences received a governor’s award through CO-LABS, part of an event recognizing high-impact research across Colorado.
