Interdisciplinary, Critical Feminist Studies in Gender and Sexuality

The Department of Women and Gender Studies (WGST) aims to foster critical thinking through an interdisciplinary approach to the exploration of gender and sexuality, as they intersect with structures of power in a range of cultural, historical and geopolitical contexts. Housed in the historic Gates Woodruff Cottage, our faculty encourage students to critically engage with course materials and with the world around them at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Fall 2026 MA in Gender and Sexuality Program Application is Open

We center intersectional, decolonial, transnational, and social transformation frameworks in the study of gender and sexuality. Students choose to complete the program with a master’s thesis or a practicum plan of study.��Scholarships and funding opportunities available.��
