8th Annual Children's Book Festival:��November 7, 2026, at Boulder Public Library

The ��ñ��School of Education and the Boulder Bookstore invite teachers, students, families, librarians, and all who enjoy children’s literature to join us for the 2026 Children's Book Festival.

The CU Children's Book Festival is supported by a grant from the CU Office for Public and Community Engaged Scholarship (PACES)

10:00 a.m. – 10:10 a.m.	Doors Open (Enter through the north side of the library, near Canyon Blvd.)
10:10 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.	Event Welcome
10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.	Picturebook Session:�� Patti Cisneros Prevo featuring��All of Apolonia Book sales and signing will follow the session
11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.	Picturebook Session:�� Raúl the Third  featuring Tough Times Book sales and signing will follow the session
11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.	Picturebook Session:�� Jolene Gutiérrez featuring��Unbreakable Book sales and signing will follow the session
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.	Book Signing - All Authors and Illustrators 12:30-1:00 – Picturebook authors/illustrators 1:00-1:30 – Chapter book authors/illustrators Local Authors Showcase��(Children's Area / Mt. Sanitas Room)
1:35 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.	Panel for Educators and Librarians:�� "Stories That See Us: Reading, Writing, and Centering Representation in Classrooms and Libraries" (featuring the six festival authors and illustrators) Library Children’s Activities��(Children's Area)��
2:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.	Chapter Book Session:�� Ernesto Cisneros featuring��Queso, Just in Time Book sales and signing will follow the session
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.	Chapter Book Session:�� Andrea L. Rogers featuring��Death in the Tallgrass Book sales and signing will follow the festival closing
4:00 p.m. – 4:05 p.m.	Festival Closing

All sessions will occur in the Canyon Theater unless otherwise noted.

Friday, November 6: Authors & illustrators visit local schools

Authors and illustrators will visit pre-selected schools in Boulder Valley School District, St. Vrain Valley School District, and other surrounding areas.
Authors and illustrators will share about their books and creative processes to inspire children's reading and writing.
Books will be provided to children and teachers in the partner schools for reading and author signing.
