  1. How do I get my biosafety cabinet certified?
  2. How do I track down a needed instrument?
    • Simply email the Shared Equipment Coordinator with the following information. The GLSE Core manager will track down existing instruments on campus for you.
      • Type of instrument (ex. circulating water bath)
      • Example of instrument (ex.ÌýVWR 1137-1P Circulating Water bath)
      • Timeframe needed (ex. starting July 1st for 2 months)

  3. I need to dispose of an instrument or other items, how can I do that?
    • It doesn't matter if the instrument(s) are functional or broken.
    • All research equipment and supplies, email the Shared Equipment Coordinator and we will take care of all the physical removal and paperwork.
    • For computer and furniture disposal:
      • MCDB - contact Mark Anderson
      • EBIO - contact Karli Hardesty
      • IPHY - contact Eric Heltne ​

  4. How can I get trained on an instrument?
    • You must be trained on any instruments you are new to using. The Shared Equipment Coordinator can set up training for any shared instrument in the GLSE Core program.Ìý

  5. Something broke, what should I do?
    • Email the Shared Equipment Coordinator immediately to let them know the instrument and the problem.
    • If the instrument should not be used and needs repairs, PLEASE put a simple sign on the instrument stating "Out of order". Thank you!
