GUT-C Productions

GUT-C! Productions is the first branch of its kind, creating a space for the members of GUT-C to collaborate on student-made films with a budget. Members can gain practical filmmaking experience in a safe and uplifting environment. GUT-C Productions gives students a variety of opportunities to gain knowledge, collaborate in dynamic workshops, get technical training, and engage with guest speakers!

How it works:

Club Meetings and Board Meetings:

Throughout an academic year, GUT-C Productions has both board meetings and weekly club meetings.

  • Board Meetings:

    • Board meetings serve as weekly check-ins with the club leaders to keep tabs on how production is going, plan and update weekly events for club meetings, and discuss club funding and money allocation.

  • Club Meetings:

    • GUT-C’s weekly club meetings can cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to: production breakdowns, script writing, guest speakers, and workshops.

Yearly Productions:
  • We focus on producing one film per year.

  • With a production budget set by the board before the beginning of the academic year, club members take one week to pitch their scripts and then vote on their favorites. The following week, the board announces the script chosen, and in the fourth week of the semester, pitches for the production committees take place.

  • We have four Production Committees who are in charge of overseeing the production process: Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production, and Distribution.

  • After each committee takes care of their respective parts in filmmaking, the final committee spends the end of the second semester promoting the film and distributing it throughout the summer and up until August.
