Impact 1: Nurturing and Growing Next-Generation Talent

We are cultivating a robust pipeline of future researchers, students, and specialized professionals. This impact centers on providing individuals across all educational levels with hands-on opportunities to design, utilize, and evaluate artificial intelligence models and systems. In doing so, we foster a talent ecosystem that prepares both the future creators of AI and the leaders who will implement it.

Key Initiatives & Activities:

• High School Internship Program: We host a structured, multi-week internship that immerses youth in authentic research and hands-on design. Working in small teams under the guidance of expert mentors, interns explore our core research strands and complete projects that build their capacity to envision and apply collaborative learning technologies within their own schools.
• The Teacher Advisory Board (TAB): To ensure our technical research remains firmly grounded in practical classroom realities, we bring practicing educators into direct collaboration with our research teams. Members of our Teacher Advisory Board (TAB) provide vital, practitioner-centered feedback during the iterative design and testing of our AI Partners.
• Collaborative Co-Design & Evaluation: Youth and educators actively participate in a variety of co-design sessions, conduct usability evaluations of new technological features, and directly advise on the development of curricula and professional learning supports.
• Project-Driven Career Readiness: We offer technical skills development, mentored research experiences, and leadership opportunities designed to equip students and early-career scholars for successful, interdisciplinary career paths.

Impact 2: Expanding Widespread Engagement

We focus on connecting a wide-ranging population of students, teachers, and community stakeholders with innovative STEM and AI literacy education. Our goal is to prepare individuals from all backgrounds for a tech-driven future, empowering them to make informed decisions about different types of AI technologies.
