ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) alumna Jacqueline McCurdy brings together her passions for music and speech-language pathology as director of Denver’s Second Verse Choir, an ensemble for individuals living with dementia and memory loss. With a background in classical singing and clinical training from ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ, McCurdy uses music to help participants reconnect with language, express themselves, and experience the joy of singing.

Through familiar songs, repetition, and supportive rehearsals, McCurdy creates an environment where singers of all abilities can participate and thrive. Beyond the music, Second Verse Choir fosters meaningful connections, builds community, and demonstrates the powerful role singing can play in supporting communication, memory, and emotional well-being.
